JOB TITLE: STAFF ACCOUNTANT
COMPENSATION: DOE - BASED ON EXPERIENCE
DEPARTMENT: Accounting 
JOB TYPE: Full-Time / Exempt
SCHEDULE: M-F, 8-hour shift

Our Corporate Offices are located in the beautiful Ocotillo area of Chandler, we are minutes from the 202/San Tan and the Loop 101. Beautiful office complex and friendly staff and coworkers. We are a growing company that is proudly filling a need for affordable housing in our nation.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This individual will fill a key role within the accounting group. The position will support various aspects of finance and accounting for the company. The ideal candidate for this position will have a well-rounded accounting background and have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. This position will be a valuable member of our accounting team by building close business relationships with client team members to help ensure accurate billing / collections, recording of journal entries, and accounts payable process. 

In addition, this role will help guide and implement future tools and products to continue to improve the speed and efficiency of the accounting organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assists in the coordination of departmental efforts to close the books monthly in a consistent, timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations to help drive monthly closing processes.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger financial systems, financial chart of accounts, GAAP
  • Work with controller, finance, and business operations team members to continuously improve accounting processes.
  • Work with external accountants and auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at month end, quarterly and at year-end.
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in all areas within the Accounting Department, as needed including but not limited to A/P, A/R, Sales Tax.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
  • Intermediate to expertise level experience with Excel using formulas, V-lookup, and pivot tables. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word, and other Office 365 tech.
  • Expert usage of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and FASB standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Good problem solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative.
